There are so many reasons why I love being a Black woman. And you know what’s at the top of that list? The fact that we can style our hair in a million and one different ways. Seriously, from weaves and wigs to twist-outs and wash and gos. The list is endless.
For me, though, braids are definitely my favorite hair look. They’re just one of those win-win hairstyles: eye-catching, super cook, and most importantly, low maintenance. And now, it looks like braids are everywhere. With so many inspo pics and new designs popping up on IG, there’s never been more braiding options for women.
From micro braids to Ghana braids to crows, braids are the most searched hairstyles on the internet. And then there’s also Marley twist, fishtail braids, blocky braids; the list goes on.

Box braids are distinctive in the way they are made. These different types of braids represent the period or culture that led to their creation. They can also be a reflection of their times. Or, to keep things on a lighter note, they’re a very pretty and useful way to style the hair.
Then, there’s the box braids with curls which adds a little flair to your look. Some added movement and texture make our braid styles a bit more unique.
