How long does crochet braids/twists last?

Typically crochet braids last between four to six weeks. Plus, you can always leave the center in a little longer and touch up the front so it looks fresh.

Does Crochet hair extensions damage your natural hair?

Crochet braids are considered a protective hairstyle for a reason. But even though they don’t damage your hair, it’s all about proper maintenance. Also making sure your hair is healthy before it’s braided down.

The pros biggest tips include using a gentle co-wash, hydrating your hair with a deep conditioner, and using a scalp tonic. Also, don’t be afraid to speak up if your braider does your cornrows too tight. This can cause more damage than good. Most importantly, don’t leave your crochet hairstyle in for longer than six weeks. If you do, it can cause time-consuming pains like hair matting.

How many packs of crochet hair do I need?

Synthetic hair is your best bet for crochet braid. The amount of hair you need depends on the exact look you want to achieve. Typically, this can be between four to eight packs, according to the VIP pros.

Is the crochet braids installation time lengthy?

The process time/installation doesn’t take long at all. If your hair is already washed and blown dry, the entire process should take about 1-2 hours. Essentially, it’s much quicker than a sew-in. And for sure faster than box braids or senegalese braids, etc.
